The Religious assistance service functions according to the provisions of the Law 195/2000.

In consists of priests recruited from the clerical personnel, that have Romanian citizenship, recommended by the highest priest of the region.
The entire personnel of the Romanian Gendarmerie have access to the religious assistance.

The military priests also carry out moral and religious education activities

There are 15 military priests within the Romanian Gendarmerie that serve in 8 churches at the headquarters from Bucharest, Craiova, Dragasani, Bacau, Falticeni, Resita, Timisoara and Brasov.

The church form Bucharest is situated at the General Inspectorate Headquarters and ah the name of the Saint Michael and Gabriel, who are also the spiritual protectors of the Gendarmerie.
